Pigduck.com has begun a new chapter.

Having only left a tiny insignificant imprint on the blogging community over the last 3 years since December 26 2005 with visitors amounting to roughly 295,000 in total, the decision to start anew leaving the past behind felt timely.
Lacking in all aspects of web design skills, it was of utmost importance to find something that was easy to customise and that looked professional.
I found the Thesis Wordpress Theme but thought the price of USD$87 was exorbitant. However, I was drawn back to it over and over again.
Perusing other Free and Premium Wordpress Themes, they felt cluttered. Not only that but I didn’t really require super magazine features for my simple website even if they looked snazzy. It’s not like I will be churning out post after post on different topics like a newspaper.
I then tried to justify paying for a Wordpress theme. To me, it felt completely ridiculous since there are so many good free themes out there. I did many a google search on this topic of whether “it was worth it to buy a premium wordpress theme”.
In the end, I took the plunge. For the sake of SEO purposes, the fact that I get some form of support and that there are detailed Theme Options that are meant to make blogging design and layout simpler, I did it. Me, the scrooge, bought a USD$87 Thesis Wordpress Theme.
I had some funds lying around thank goodness. It is a hefty sum. It really is but I am thinking of it as a New Years’ present to myself. Investing in my website means that I expect something in return for my efforts. I am not sure what those expectations are yet but I have much hope for pigduck.com in 2009 and beyond. Let’s hope Thesis Wordpress Theme lasts for that long. Hopefully you will see gradual progress and improvements on pigduck.com.
