Ok so I need to be more up to speed with my blogging but Lindsay Lohan’s white maserati has been put up for auction on ebay!
Just so you know, I noticed this maserati was loaned to her some time in mid-March 2009. Since then it has featured prominently in paparazzi photos, of her getting in and out of the maserati, etc etc.
Loaned to her by Dennis DeSantis, it was rumoured that he had also asked her to promote “Neurogasm“, an energy drinks range with funky names and coincidentally, a lot of celebrities drink it.
Anyway, the point of this post was to point out that the white Maserati was loaned to her during the most tumultuous time for her… yes, during her very public break-up with Samantha Ronson… I remember reading about the car and thinking, “hey, how weird… why would someone loan her a car?”
Now I can piece it together and say… the car was part of the ‘promotion’ or ‘endorsements’ during her crazy break-up… Remember the Funny or Die video and my take on it – eHarmony (& their gay dating site launch), Neurogasm, Sevin Nyne, etc etc. So this makes me wonder, was the break-up even real? And with much reflection, it was so close to April Fools’ too. Were we had?
I was also wondering what benefit the car owner had in loaning the car since she did get into a number of accidents and that couldn’t have cost little to repair. At the time, it was thought that it was payment for walking around carrying Neurogasm but I remember thinking at the time, “what? so she gets a car ride for awhile?” I was also wondering when the ride would end. Well now we know and what great marketing, don’t you think? I mean the car got major coverage over the last few months and now it’s listed on eBay with her name attached to it and the car company gets recognition too. Not only that, this has been reported all over the blogosphere. And isn’t it amazing that even with Lilo laying low (Wow, that rhymes!) she’s still making the news. She really ‘doesn’t lose her Google hits’. I mean the rumours of the day, besides the sale of the maserati, is that Lindsay Lohan is in talks to become a creative consultant for French fashion house Emanuel Ungaro – but the attached drama is of course, that this move has angered the brand’s top designer. I like her style! Seriously, girl is drama. Who needs television?
Anyway, interestingly enough, ‘Lilo laying low’ is quite the statement of the day… she hasn’t been spotted in days. She’s should be turning up on paparazzi radar soon! And she has! Lindsay Leaves Paris to Meet with Sam in London! Did you notice that she’s sporting the same styled jacket and a hat as what Samantha Ronson’s been wearing the last few days in London?
Is Lindsay Lohan at Paddington Station?! AAAAHHH!! That was the station I stopped at when I was in London!!! I lived literally 10 minutes away. I’m going to faint.
She’s due to be in London on June 3 2009 for the “Elite Parties & Mace PR exclusively present Lindsay Lohan’s Official UK Party Part 1” and another appearance for “Sevin Nyne Launch Party Hosted by Lindsay Lohan“.
Can I say too that during all this craziness, Samantha Ronson’s got just as much publicity and even more. I have a feeling Twitter is part of the promotion too. I bet with all my heart that Twitter got Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson on board. I mean, it was so close to the time when Ashton Kutcher challenged CNN to see who could break the 1 million followers mark and Oprah’s Twitter debut!

And the thing is, no one would think that any of this is a publicity stunt because… Lindsay Lohan is known for her drama!
First of all, a week or two before the break-up, Samantha Ronson signed up for Twitter (and was on a new aluminium Macbook, I think she mentioned it or something which incidentally Lindsay Lohan was seen carrying a Macbook just before the break-up) but she wasn’t on Twitter like crazy until she broke up with Lindsay Lohan. Then she was on it 24/7 literally. 
Clearly pining for her love and with nothing to do on her hands, she went online constantly.
But that’s not really the point. The point was during this time, Lindsay Lohan’s Twitter account was private whereas Samantha Ronson’s was public which meant that during their ‘drama’, since people couldn’t follow Lindsay Lohan’s crazy twitters (she left some weird messages in her Twitter and this was splashed all over the tabloids), the next best thing was Samantha’s. As we speak, Samantha Ronson is touching 400,000 followers!
Not only that, during this time, Samantha Ronson updated her MySpace and got herself an official website. And interestingly, she got to perform some of her ‘new songs from her upcoming album‘ at some club in Chicago.
In my opinion, a lot of the love people have for Samantha Ronson is because of Lindsay Lohan’s open affection towards her. It’s like, “Wow, if Lindsay loves her, she must be something…” 
Well people started taking more note of her anyway. True she is from a famous family but still… some of the Lindsay Lohan hype helped. Let’s be honest.
So in a way, Lindsay Lohan’s ‘helped’ Samantha Ronson build up her ’street cred’ if we can put it that way. And not only that, we’ve grown accustomed to Samantha’s cool style over the past year and it seems she may be coming up with her own clothing line… you can take a look at this twitter and twitpic too.
OK! I should stop my conspiracy theories now… But I hope I make some sense… I am so amazed at the PR and everything! WHEE! I’m in for the ride! I’m sure there were more things I wanted to say but after seeing new pictures of Lindsay Lohan, I’m on a high!
It is tough. Some times I forget it exists. Other times, I have my mouse hovering over the bookmark. Tough stuff.
