So I wasn’t going to comment on the drama that is Lindsay Lohan but I can’t help it. I need to say something! Just ‘cos I know Lindsay will give me some “google hits” – nah, kidding.
I am quite embarrassed to admit that I have been crazily following Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson since they ‘broke up’ last week.
A lot of it is hard to believe because we’re talking Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson. They practically declared their love from mountain tops! Or Lindsay did anyway and it made us all envious of Samantha.
It’s been a surreal experience if you’ve followed the Lindsay and Samantha saga from the start. I have.
To cut a long story short, a lot of it is conflicting, confusing and fishy.
Why were family members involved? Why a restraining order? Why were friends publicly siding with Samantha? Why were family members hanging around in town for so long? Does this mean Lindsay will go off the rocks again? Why does Samantha seem nonchalant about the break up? Did Samantha cheat on Lindsay? How did they fall out of love? Did they fall out of love? Why did the seemingly perfect pair break up?!
After gaining sympathy votes from her exclusive Us Weekly interview and staying on the down low, she re-emerges online and starts to respond to some of Samantha’s Twitters and decides to send a kiss out to Samantha on Facebook. Had they patched up? What’s going on?
Then the bomb drops and Lindsay Lohan releases a “Funny or Die” video. We didn’t see this coming!
Everybody takes her problems so seriously. I should know. I subjected myself to 500+ pages worth of discussion, speculation, name calling and accusations… and all from Lindsay fans… and all over the past week alone. Her fans need rehab more than she does for sure.
Although she constantly reassures everyone that she’s on her way to recovery and is healing, people are still skeptical. I, however, have much faith in her.
Do you know what this proves though? That even though we sift through pages and pages and pages of tabloids, paparazzi photos, listen to speculation, follow our celebrities on social networking sites and just hang on and over-analyse everything that happens, we really have no clue. NO CLUE. I mean who saw this Funny or Die video coming?!
What has made this whole saga most heartwarming is that Lindsay continues to declare her love for Samantha. In her Us Weekly interview she does not blame Samantha. When paparazzi trail her and ask her about Samantha she still says she will always love Samantha. I mean, this girl’s devotion is just… admirable to say the least. It really is. Maybe she owes Samantha so much for allowing her (Lindsay) to take advantage of their relationship at Samantha’s expense.
So is the break for real? Who knows!? We’ll have to wait and see.
I think we’ve been had. No less by Lindsay Lohan.

And this is why I believe we’ve been had. Could it be that this was planned in advance to create hype for Lindsay Lohan?
When all hell broke loose, Lindsay Lohan was staying at Chateau Marmont. So were the Ronsons and supposedly Samantha. Apparently, Lindsay Lohan was there at Chateau Marmont for her Sevin Nyne promotions.
I thought this FoD video was superb. It’s nice to see a celebrity not take themselves too seriously and maybe she will get back into everyone’s good books and graces because of this video.

Is it by coincidence that the video is released on the eve of her self-tanning spray launch on Sephora.com? I don’t think so. I mean, Lindsay will be everywhere by the 15th. People will be talking about her non-stop.
Not only that #612679 – is that not major pimping for her brands or what? 6126 is her legging line and 79 (or sevin nyne) her self-tanning spray.
Major product placements too in this minute and a half video -
Neurogasm (and it looks like I wasn’t the only one who noticed – she was holding a bottle of Neuro Bliss and Neurogasm on two paparazzi occasions in the past week alone)
eHarmony
Sevin Nyne
and
Us Weekly.
Product mentions for Cadillac Escalade, Google and Marlboro Miles. Let’s not forget Funny or Die, Chateau Marmont, E News, People Magazine and Charlotte Ronson’s “I Heart Ronson” JC Penney Line.
I don’t buy what the director, Eric Appel (by the way he gets major credit for this video too) tells Us Weekly that this Funny or Die viral video is off the cuff and improvised. The more I think about it, the more I am convinced that this marketing at its best.
