The title says it all. It spells it out exactly which may offend some of us out there. OF course, we may deny we are like that at all but trust me, there’s a bit of Christian in all of us.
What do you wear to display your Christianity? I love those bumper stickers! There’s nothing wrong with reading books just don’t be too excessive and don’t clobber other people with your ‘book’ knowledge. Anyway, people who read Christian books aren’t immature mimickers. Some of them like to think they are better than others because of what they’ve read. I wonder if I’m lumped into this category… (probably).
I actually know people like this! They own Ipods filled with just sermons and Christian music! JPod… HAHA… I know people who encourage it too! I mean, it’s a good thing but still, I can’t believe they made a commercial out of it.
The Christian kept on smiling throughout the video- a bit fake on that part… but otherwise great video. If you ask me, if you skipped the last few videos, don’t miss the one above. Just watched it again and it’s so true!
It’s all a bit strange since Malaysians aren’t normally open about homosexuality. It looks like he wants to bring MCC to Malaysia which is fine… I say, bring it on brother!
Their statement of faith looks pretty decent. Not too outlandish or far-out.
I had ranted for at least 8 paragraphs on various things like Malaysian Church culture (which can be similar to the last video above) but have decided to snip it all out. If megachurches can thrive with “easy to swallow”, “feel good” Christianity and if it helps people come to Christ or have some sort of faith, then is there anything really wrong with a church who wants to reach out to them?
A friend of mine mentioned that these homosexuals (horrible term, I know) are not repentant of their sin. They are proud of it. Hmm… that can be a bit of a stumbling block in my argument that I had crafted the day before that they feel unaccepted and rejected and thus need to feel the love of Christ.
If you ask me, their pride and unrepentance is a defence mechanism built up over the years.
Jesus Christ hung out with despised people of his time, prostitutes and tax collectors. Obviously, people were shocked by his actions.
Then there was the time Jesus said,
“All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!”
This was in response to the Jewish leaders who asked about stoning a woman who had committed adultery. I found a few commentaries rather interesting ‘cos they said that it takes two to tango, so where was the man? This one talked about conscience and how Jesus challenged them.
A friend of mine took us on a sightseeing tour last night to the “sleazy” streets of KL where pimps, transexuals, gays, etc. camp out at night and wait for customers. It’s a strange concept altogether. It’s a sad part of town – dirty, derelict, dull. I am so naive. Not forgetting, shocked and scared at the same time. Obviously, I’m under-exposed.
Anyway, all they have is each other. Don’t you think they need something refreshing, forgiving and beautiful in their lives?
Again, if you ask me, the burden rests on their shoulders for the rest of their lives. They are disowned by their family, disowned by society except for sleazy men who come to “use” their services… imagine what must go through their head! To think that is all they are worth. I can’t imagine living with such guilt. It must be awful. They need to be set free.
Christians can be harsh and exclusive, me included. Some say imperfect people with flaws and sins should not be leaders in a church but come on, who are we kidding? Leaders are not perfect. If only they were.

Did you hear about the Malaysian gay man who was recently ordained as a pastor at the Metropolitan Community Church, NY?

Truly, the last video says everything. Watch it.
